Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Online

There are several health and safety regulations in place that aim to help protect human health in the case of substances and chemicals that are hazardous to health. Substances that are classed as: very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive or irritant; are covered under the regulations. It is the employers’ responsibility to ensure that all employees that deal with substances hazardous to health are trained accordingly. The two regulations which govern the use of these substances are the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation as well as the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). Between them they seek to provide a high level of protection for human health and the environment in the use of potentially harmful chemicals and substances.
